Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. The parents of Matthew Matt James are Manny James as well as Patty James. He is the son of his Nigerian father as well as a Caucasian mother. In 2010 he graduated from Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics in 2015. James made headlines when he appeared on The Bachelorette as a reality TV show star. He was picked in 2020 as the bachelor in season 25, becoming The first African American male lead which later premiered in 2021. James was the ideal candidate to the job because his height is tall, handsome and well-rounded and has a sense of comedy. Rachael Krkconnell was picked to be his partner for the season. In 2021 he partnered with popular dancer Arnold to take part in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James along with Arnold placed 12th on the show.
